My practice emphasizes the legal and crisis issues faced by the elderly and their families, including incapacity, guardianship, long-term care, and end-of-life concerns. In my 30+ years of practice, I have truly enjoyed the relationships I have developed with my clients and their families. I have the privilege of helping and protecting them – often at one of the most difficult times in their lives. I count myself very fortunate because I like my job. I enjoy the wonderful group of attorneys and staff I work with every day. Most importantly, I get to help clients who need and appreciate my help. It doesn’t get much better than that!
When not practicing law, I enjoy anything outdoors, including fishing, hiking, gardening and landscaping and any and every other activity that includes my wife and family.
Tim Clairmont - Building a Financial Services and Property/Casualty Business
Tim Clairmont is the founder and CEO of Clear Financial Partners, Inc., a holistic financial planning firm in the Portland, OR suburb of Lake Oswego. Tim has served clients as a financial advisor for over two decades, and his passion for helping others has resulted in international recognition within the financial services community. Tim is ranked as a Top of the Table Member with the Million Dollar Round Table. MDRT is renowned as being one of the premier financial advisory and insurance organizations in the world.
In the past few years Tim has launched a national education initiative called the ClearFP Advisor Program™. This business is focused on sharing the intellectual property, strategies and systems that Tim has developed with other like-minded financial advisors across the country. Tim has launched a free mobile app to educate the general public and help them create their own financial plans. His ClearFP: Clock app provides a new way for investors to better understand how to work with their assets and income sources collaboratively to achieve better balance and save adequately for their future. Additionally, Tim is a published author. His first book was made available on Amazon in 2015, Passionate Ambivalence: How to Sell with Authenticity and Integrity. He is currently working on his second book titled: What Should I do with my 401k?He is also an accomplished public speaker.
In June of 2018 Tim was afforded the opportunity to speak on the subject of emotional intelligence to a live international audience of over 14,000 insurance and financial advisors from over 60 different countries. His speech was also live-streamed to an audience of over 70,000 in those same countries around the globe.
On a personal note, Tim lives in downtown Portland, OR with his fiancée Crystal and their son Marshall. Crystal works with Tim in the business, and together they enjoy travelling the world and sampling new cuisines, cocktails and wines.
Maria Pearman - Impacts on Individual Clients in the new tax laws
Maria founded Radix Accounting in 2012 after spending five years at a large local CPA firm. Radix was created to provide accounting expertise and a deep operational knowledge to two specific industries that she enjoys - craft beer and creative services. Maria was the Portland Lead Instructor for Becker CPA review courses for five years, and taught Finance and Accounting for the Craft Brewer in Portland State University's Business of Craft Brewing program and in the University of Vermont’s Business of Craft Beer program. She is currently writing a book on brewery finance to be published by the Brewers Association in 2019.
Maria has held committee chair positions with the Oregon Society of CPAs and was selected by the American Society of CPAs to participate in their Leadership Academy as one of thirty-four young industry leaders in 2015. Outside of work Maria loves to explore corners of the globe near and far.
Rick Hayes - Life Insurance Magic! - Presented by New York Life
Rick became a New York Life Agent in July of 1986. Within his first year qualified for Career Council, where he was elected as the Vice President of his Career Council. He has been awarded the Centurion Award, National Quality Award and was an Executive Council member while an agent. He was promoted as the Training Manager for the Greater Oregon General Office in January 1991. He was again promoted to Pacific Coast Life Product Consultant in April 1999. Rick completed his CLU designation in 1994 and his ChFC designation in 1996. He earned his Master’s of Science in Financial Services in July 2000. He was the 1994-1995 President of the Salem Board of Life Underwriters. He is the 1996 winner of the Tony Konen Memorial Award for Leadership. He has served as a board member of the Society of Financial Professional. Rick earned an AEP (Accredited Estate Planning) designation in August 2000. Rick was promoted in Feb. 2011 to Assistant Vice President Whole Life Specialist in the Pacific agencies. He was promoted to Corporate Vice President and Life Sales officer for the Pacific Zone in 2014, and has supervise the Life Consultant team. He was promoted in January 2018 to Advance Life Sale Officer, where he will be responsible for WL sales in the Pacific and West Central Agencies and work specifically with the top 100 agents in those two zones. His specialty is working with agents on advanced planning and Business cases.
Rick speaks and entertains around the country on sales, motivation and people skills. Rick’s unique speaking style encompasses magic and humor to keep the audiences laughing and learning at the same time.
Rick and his wife Louanne live in Salem, Oregon. They have two sons, Zachary and Bryant.
